Flash1034
Has anybody replaced the stock spark plugs with plugs of a cooler heat range to fatten up the mixture a little? If so, what plugs are you guys recommending for the twin spark (2007) R motor? Thanks, Flash Link to comment

duckbubbles
A colder or hotter spark plug won't change the mixture any. What will change is the color of the plug due to the heat range being too cool or hot to burn off the deposits. Don't you think they spent a little time to zero in on the correct heat range for proper running in all conditions? Maybe if you were running at Bonneville you could experiment. For a street bike, I think it wouldn't do much good at all. A change to something like a fine wire or iridium plug may be a better answer, if the computer likes that type of plug.
