Francois_Dumas
Perhaps the Smugmug Gods are looking favorable upon me today? Lets try again: The world in fog at 6 a.m.... yechchch! Looking up to the clouds we're about to enter, finding the Pt. Saint Bernard Pass up there somewhere... a cold ride!! And then, all of a sudden, the fog moves out of the way...... The town of La Rosière... last town before the Pass and before the Italian Border The famous St. bernard dog, this one carved in wood. They were (and ARE) raised by the monks at the pass. The (very) early morning sun glistening off the water of a stream near the pass crossing Up there are the buildings of the Pt. Saint Bernard Pass. There are some clouds behind it and we were very anxious to see what the weather would look behind it Incredible view back. THAT's the bad weather we rode through coming up the pass. Above the clouds nothing but blue skies as far as the eye can see. If only we'd known before we'd been less nervous. Here are some pictures Nina took on our descent on the Italian side: Our first stop after leaving the house....... We made it down into the valley after a long descent. .... so it was time for a well-deserved Cappucino !! and to take off our all-season gear! Angela's Coffee bar: recommended! Well, I hope this bunch of piccies made it through the inners of the Internet. Will try and post more when my phone card is loaded again..... Link to comment
Paul Mihalka
Wonderful pictures and stories. I wish I was there. But this picture grabbed me. This is what motorcycle riding is all about: And then, all of a sudden, the fog moves out of the way...... Link to comment
tallman
Nice, as usual. If you'd leave before sunrise, the fog isn't so noticeable. Link to comment

Twisties
Fantastic! How did you crop the centerline out of the road on the pass? That's some pretty fancy editing there. That looks like a beautiful ride. Link to comment
