Brake Pads Preferences

What replacement brake pads do you folks prefer? OEM, EBC... Why?

Sintered, Organic... Why?

I like EBC's "HH" (sintered) pads. Better friction coefficient, i.e. same stopping power with less effort at the lever. Nice on really twisty roads where you're on the brakes a lot. People have said that they're hard on the brake rotors. Maybe, but my RT's rotors made it past 100K before the thickness reached the wear limit; that's good neough for me.

+1 on the EBC HH pads.

I've got them on my Blackbird now and the improvement in braking over the factory pads was dramatic. Gotta do the lines one of these days. Not a project I'm looking forward to, 13 lines and 7 separate bleed points.

I've had very good luck with EBC on K bikes. I notice that Beemer Boneyard now sells Carbone Lorraine pads. Anybody know anything about them?

Ferodo platinums-

Same stopping power as the EBC pads but with more feel, and without the hardness that wears/grooves the discs.

I've been using the EBC FA pads for the last 10 years on 2 oilheads. They are a GG rated high brake affect organic pad that is blended with aramid fibres. These pads give good mileage and eliminate rotor galling. They are rated as suitable for all big sport bikes, cruisers, and tourers alike. I have a set of sintered SBS pads in the tool chest but, haven't felt the need to run them yet.
