Boots..... ventilated, supportive, stylish, durable, inexpensive....

I don't ask for much, eh?

I am wearing Sidi Sport Tepors- http://www.newenough.com/boots/waterproo...ycle_boots.html

They've been good, but are worn and ratty - will be ideal to keep for sloppy days and winter wear.

They are comfortable fitting, short enough to walk around the office but tall enough for protection, and have OK abrasion resistant plastic bits over bony ankle parts. They are waterproof due to their "breathable membrane" that's like Euro-Goretex, but boy are they HOT.

I'd like to find a pair of breathable boots for summer when it's 100 degrees, that I can wear under business casual pants around the office w/o looking too goofy. Problem is, I can't seem to find a pair that meets my criteria.

Example- The Set Up Pegasos: http://www.newenough.com/boots/sport_street_touring_boots/set_up/pegaso_vented_motorcycle_boot.html

Why did they put the flimsiest material (the vent panels) directly over the bone that sticks out the outside of the ankle?

I can just feel the pavement grinding on that bone as I skid down the road with perspiration-free feet...

I'd like more protection, like this: http://www.newenough.com/boots/sport_str...port_boots.html

But with a real sole that you can walk around in and that won't wear out in 6 weeks on the street.

I've looked at these, even tried a pair on in person and aside from the price that seems way inflated, they are on a different last than my other Sidis and don't fit me well for some reason - protection wise there's not much to them, and they have zero ventilation.

Any ideas?

Thanks, I had seen a couple of those, one I had not. None of the linked manufacturers in those threads appear to have any vented boots in their lineups. I'm not real hot on laces on motorcycle boots, but I could adapt if everything else was right. Those magnums you like don't appear to have any motorcycle specific features like plastic bits to slide on the pavement instead of your angle getting re-contoured.

Waterproof is easy - plenty of those around.

The only ventilated boot Web Bike World appears to like is that wacky Oxtar with the squeeky ankle hinge gizmo....
