put em on yesterday, seemed like a lot of weight to get them balanced since the metzlers hardly had any. they are woner in a slow speed i.e. parking garage, nicely compliant on bumps, they turn in quite a bit faster but once i got a bit of time on them i like it a lot better. however since all i had to compare was metzlers with 8k on them i con't know how they stack up against others. i'd buy them again, totally different bike now, a lot more nimble but with a softer ride. don't know how they did that but i'd recommend them.

It's amazing ecery tyre report says something along the lines of "they turn in much better" surely this is simply a case of going from a worn out squared off profile to the correct new profile, so anything will turn in better, would be interested to see your thoughts after a few thousand miles though.

good point. i perhaps was to paranoid in the first n(k) miles to notice. the softer ride tho is quite suprising. i also think the multi -compound setup has something to do with it. there is a distinct difference between off center and cornering.i.e it feels like you just fell over but don't over compensate, very "delicate" once off center..just stop leaning and it grabs. let it grab and go. or maybe it just means that every atom in myu thumb is a universe. the other thing i noticed was how much better they handled ground off paint stripes and the 1/4" gouge that occurs. could be just new/old but the metzlers were always so twitchy riding those edges. bottom line, not displeased. seems to have made a biiig difference. i think the adjustable bottom link is next. my lowered pegs drag and make me nervous.

hmmm. what tire to try nxt time....
