I'm fabricating a mount for my GPS. Can anyone tell me the size of the socket head cap screws holding the bar riser?

Davis has got it, M8's. Take note of the inboard front screw on each handlebar: there's a nut on the bottomside that must be removed before backing the bolt out. That nut holds the wire loop that gathers all the control cables between the bars.

Jeff, that is where I attached my Zumo.. Makes a very good & vibration free mounting point..

Those bolts are lock-tighted in so will take some force to get out.. I machined a stainless steel stand-off that goes down in the handle bar hole & the mount goes on top of that using a longer stainless steel socket head cap screw (that keeps from damaging the top of the handlebar aluminum)..

I have some original looking stainless steel M8 X 1.25 socket head cap screws so give me a PM (include the length needed) if you can’t find any locally..
