maxfrankel
Mounted my Vstream today. AT least for my 69"/32"inseam frame, the additional wind protection is dramatic. MUCH less wind. However, there is a very annoying howling sound when the screen is in the lowest positions. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fix other than to raise the screen? Link to comment
grayghost
I have the same windshield on my bike. It seems the howling is only at slower speeds, (under 30) seems to go away after that Link to comment
beemerFROG
Sorry to invade you hex-heads...hope I am allowed. I've got it on my 2000 RT and experience no wind noise or howling at any level or any speed. Can't explain it myself, maybe Z-Technik techs can. (Sat that 3 times fast!) If all else fails and you just can't live with it, please feel free to switch your bike on over to this side! Link to comment

I found that if I "blip" the "up" button for the shield for a split second (from the full down position), the angle starts to change as it starts to rise (you know that "wiggle" it does at the bottom of it's travel?) and the "whistle" (on mine) goes away if you stop the shield just as it tilts back slightly. If you move past this tilted position the sound comes back. Must be a function of angle that causes it. YMMV Link to comment
TomfromMD
I always figured the howling was a built in reminder to raise the shield as speed increases. As I prefer an open face helmet, this helps to keep the bugs out of my face. Link to comment
