bobbybob
Just got my new Active Plus and realized that the music input doesn't mute when I get a call on my Kenwood. Disappointed ...so just how annoying is this to someone else with both music & transceiver inputs? Maybe since the music WILL mute 50% when you start to speak (or make any sound), that is enough? Not really crazy about spending another $150 for the pro Avi model. Thanks! Link to comment
Couchrocket
I discovered the same thing when I bought my Active + Duo just before the last Torrey. In fact, I thought the unit was defective until I spoke w/ Autocom on the phone. The good news is that unless you're into heavy metal music (or some other such bombastic type sound) and have the gain up so high that your ear drums are in danger of imploding.... it actually is no problem at all. The key will be to have the audio volume control of your FRS within easy reach so you can tweak it if necessary. In practice it took a very short time to get the FRS volume and the music volume balanced to the point where I didn't even think about it at all. A bigger problem for me (I like to sing in the shower!) was remembering the VOX... and not singing to my buds on the ride over the FRS. I don't sing so good. Link to comment
bobbybob
Thanks Scott--I'll keep it on your say-so! In fact, maybe I can wire up a work-around. I see that any input to aux 1 will cut the audio on aux 2, so if I could tap into the audio output from the Kenwood and run it into aux 1, the music on aux 2 would mute! Hmmmmm.... Link to comment
bobbybob
Another Active-Plus question: does anyone know if it is possible to de-activate the automatic 50% muting on aux 2 when you start to speak (or noise trips it) ? This is the only stereo input for my sat. radio--I could use aux 1 or 3 but they are mono inputs. It is very annoying when the volume drops repeatedly. Link to comment
