NapaBavarian
I'm trying to get onto an R1200RT and wonder what maintnence issues or mechanical issues I should expect to have, so far in searching the only thing that I have notice is the rear shock needing work at 15-20,000 miles. Thanks, Karl Link to comment

JayW
Routine maintenance is required at 600 miles and then every 6000 miles thereafter. Expect to spend a lot on tires. The bike is put together pretty well, and should hold up well. Jay Link to comment

Albert
You may need to lube the gas door from time to time. It will get plenty of use once you start riding the RT. Link to comment
