Oil -- -- --

Just what does the (Oil - - -) actually mean.

I am getting that reading on my bike this am when starting and letting it idle for 30 seconds.

The owners manual states that "the oil level cannot be measured). I can see the oil in the glass, it shows when not running that it is about 5/8 to 3/4 of the height of the glass when not running. When running the sight glass shows that it drops to about an 1/8" to 1/4" below half.

Does anyone know whats going on here?

It needs to run longer than 30 seconds, especially if you are talking about 30 seconds after starting it up cold. Ride a couple of miles to get it thoroughly warm and then stop and check it again.

Russ,

Thanks for the information.

I will try that and see how it reads then.

PS: What you are seeing in the sight glass is normal.

Russ,

I thought that the oil was normal when the (Oil with a check mark) came up on the BC.

It means that the engine is not warmed up, nothing to worry about. After you start riding the system will measure the oil level and when you stop will give you the OIL check when the BC is set to temperature.

Thanks for the info.

Went for a little ride to the gas station and checked it out when I pulled up to the tank before getting off.

I that the (Oil with a check) mark.

I guess that I am learning as I go.
