SHOman
hello, Typing this with oily fingers... I am performing my 18k service valve adjustment (1st time). I read the "how to's" and have the TDC mark in what I think is center of the viewing hole. Valves are able to be wiggled. What angle should i be looking at the hole? dead on, eyes at same level? I want to be sure I am looking from the correct angle. Also, I unscrewed the head bolts by hand. Should they have been this loose? THANKS! back to them valves for a bit. Link to comment
Stan Walker
Also, I unscrewed the head bolts by hand. Should they have been this loose? I assume you mean valve cover bolts...... No, they should have been torqued to 8 Nm. If you really meant head bolts you have a serious problem. What angle should i be looking at the hole? dead on, eyes at same level? I want to be sure I am looking from the correct angle It doesn't matter. There is a large area of the cam opposite the cam lobe where there will be no up or down motion of the cam follower. I would say "flat" but of course the cam is really round. Stan Link to comment
