norton850
How can I disable my 1200RT headlight without taking the bulbs out. I remember a post somewhere that referred to hitting the indicator switches in a particular sequence? I have to turn of the lights for an event I am participating in. Can anyone help? TowJam
1. Hold down the right blinker switch for 5 seconds then release. 2. Then immediately hold down the blinker cancel switch for 5 seconds. On pre-07 bikes, you'd have to restart (reboot ?) the bike to get the headlights back on. With the '07s, you only have to hit the high beam and they come back on. Link to comment
norton850
Thanks very much. You made my day! I did however have to reverse the sequence on my bike to shut off the light. Cancel button first then indicator button. Link to comment

ScottT
Why would one want to do this? Stuck in a traffic jam not moving and wanting to not drain the battery... Military members going on-base dimming their headlights for the ID check... Because you want to. Who knows... Just nice to know you can do it. Link to comment
Roger_R
Why would one want to do this? Just curious...... When I did my ERC at Team Arizona, Dean (DeansBMW) showed me the trick. I used it then, and you are correcr sir. I have an 05 ST and have to shut off the bike to turn em back on. Link to comment
