Freedom Air seat cushion

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Freedom Air seat cushion?

My g/f was thinking of getting an AirHawk pillion seat cushion and I was doing a little research and came upon the Freedom Air.

I have been toying with the idea of getting a seat cushion myself. Presently have a stock seat with half the original

foam removed and some softer foam installed. The price was right. But at the end of a day the butt still gets mighty sore.

So looking for any and all opinions on both these cushions.

(someday I'll get a real seat...sigh)

I have been using an Airhawk for about 3 to 4 years with success. I read the benefits of the Freedom Air seat cushion on their website and ordered one from www.derbycycles.com about 2 months ago. I didn't actually take a ride with it, but simply sitting on it with my bike on the centerstand was enough to convince me that the Airhawk works much better for me. The Freedom Air cushion is smaller than my Airhawk large cruiser cushion.

Derby Cycles has a 30 day money guarantee on the Freedom Air seat cushion, so all you're out is shipping if you wanted to give it a try and you choose to return it.

BTW, I completed a Bun Burner Gold endurance ride two days ago alternating between the Airhawk and the Rick Mayer custom seat by itself. I find that changing the seating arrangement at each gas stop really helps.

A friend uses a gel pad. He claims that it is not as squishy as the Airhawk. I've also tried beads but find that they only feel good for 20 minutes and then they seem nothing but uncomfortably hard.

Best of luck.

I can't speak for the Fredom Air cushion but I have a medium cruiser sized Airhawk that works very well on my RT.
