tbloomq
My Arai needs to be replaced. I will most likely buy another one to encase my egg shaped head. Where is the best place to buy helmets? Tom Link to comment

Wyn
If you have a Cycle Gear store in your area they're pretty good. At least the one here in Tampa is. I bought my TourMaster suit and Nolan 102 from them. Their price was about average. When I mentioned the web price to them they were pretty cool about meeting it or beating it. wbrissette
You might also try Extreme Supply. I was very happy with both their customer service and prices when I was shopping for a new helmet a few months back. http://www.extremesupply.com/ Wayne Link to comment

Bruce C
I'm sure that there is a Cycle Gear store near you. They have one of the largest in-store helmet selections around, with the possible exception of Chaparral Motorsports. Link to comment
Jake
Tom - AFAIK, the best place to buy an Arai is at The Helmet Shop. If you are using a Signet-GT, the replacement model - the Profile - worked out well for me in terms of shape. If anyone else has better prices, I haven't seen it yet. Link to comment
KingBiscuit
You might try ironpony.com or newenough.com Dan Link to comment
Zippo
I got mine at motorcyclecloseouts.com - I bought a Shark, most comfortable helmet I've ever owned. Link to comment
Doppelganger
I have found Cycle Gear a decent shop. Worth checking. Link to comment
Gizmo
I have gotten great service and the most competitive prices from Helmet Harbor. Also have found Helmet City (previously mentioned) to offer competitive pricing. Link to comment
LeeSG
Bought my Shoei Multitech from Helmet City. Great service and very fast shipping. I had no fit issues so I don't know what buying online would be like if you had to go round a few times for sizing/shape. Link to comment
ElJefe
I have a great relationship with one particular salesperson at my local BMW Dealer (Lone Star BMW in Austin, TX). She has been very helpful to me over the years in finding boots that fit, helmets that fit, plus the gloves, riding jackets, etc. (I'm tough to fit: big, tall, wide feet, short inseam, long torso, huge noggin, etc) She's knowledgeable & will order stuff just for me to try on. If it doesn't fit, no problem. If it fits but I don't like the color, no problem. I've been going back often enough & bought enough stuff that I've gotten great discounts. I just bought a new $495 (list) helmet yesterday for lower than any of the internet sites mentioned above (I did go look just to see how I did). But even if I paid the same or a little more than the discount internet places, I would never have known which helmet fit me best before buying. Same with boots. I just bought a new pair of riding boots & we ordered in three different pairs to try before deciding. Also got a discount on those too. And I needed new prescription sunglasses. Best ones I've found for riding were at the motorcycle stores. So she worked with me to order prescription Wiley-X's, but only after trying on a dozen pair to see which fit my head best. And the strange thing is: I have never (yet) owned a BMW bike, let alone bought one from them! (But I will be buying my R1200RT from them, hopefully by next Spring) Morale of the story? It's well worth it to develop a good relationship with a local dealer! Link to comment
OldBoldPilot
You might try this eBay seller. He's extremely reliable, as seen by his approval rating, and has the best prices I've seen anywhere. I've bought two helmets from him. He also answers e-mail queries promptly if you don't see what you want. Try typing Arai in his search window. He carries a few models. Link to comment
BluesTraveler
I've bought most of my helmets from 'The Helmet Store" But when I got my Arai I wanted to make sure it fit. So I went to one of my local BMW dealerships. Seems most carry Arai. After finding the one I wanted I asked for a better deal and they knocked about $100 of the sticker price for me . Has been a great helmet. Arai has great customer service. I found this out when attending last years motorcycle show in Long Beach. I was having trouble with my shield. Didn't ratchet up the same on both sides. Found there service booth. I was asked if I had the helmet here which I did And they fixed it on the spot, free of charge. Link to comment
