Howdy, I'm looking for a seller or site where I can purchase the light brackets that mount with the mirrors (1996 RT). I have seen them on a couple bikes pictured on this site but not on any vender sites. Thanks

Are you talking about the EMP mounts?

I have a set on my RT w/ Trail Tech HID spotlights on them. I like them a lot. The brackets are a little pricey for what they are, but remember you're paying for the engineering and fit and testing not raw materials. They are well made and fit perfect, too.

They go on easy, they are stable, and the high position for lights is great for visibility down the road and conspicuity.

Not sure this is a classifieds issue, though.

Here is another option. I liked the concept of the EMP but wanted them below so first I made a set of brackets myself. They worked ok, vibrated a lot though. Also they were kind of in the way when taking off the tuperware. So then I made a set of very simple hinged brackets out of aluminum, powder coated them, and attached them right to the side covers. Works great! There are quick connects behind the plastic so that the entire unit stays together when the bike is naked. I am in the process right now of making the new and improved version which more closely resembles the brackets I made for the Hella Micro DE fog lights, and has a wider base for even more stability.

Instead of using the supplied switch, since the RT has such a chopped up dash with few options for putting more than one switch, I made a switching box and attached it to the front of my Nelson Rigg tank bag. There is a switch for PIAA driving lights, Hella fog lights, heated gloves, and heated clothing. The inside of the bag has the hook ups for the heated gear plus a cig plug, and the connections to the timer/temp/volt gauge mounted on top of the bag. All of this is fed from its own fuse block (Centech) and has threaded DIN plugs to attach it to the bag. Comes off very easy, plugs in securely, and keeps my electrical attempts away from the electronics that run the bike. (In case I screw up, I can still ride!)

I am very pleased with the looks and function, and not being a engineer or mechanic, it wasn't too bad to do. Hope this inspires you to look beyond what is out there on the market. There is a ton of satisfaction with really making your bike your own with stuff you made, not bought.
