04RT - Rear Pad replacement

Is there anything special and/or to be concerned about when replacing the rear brake pads on a 04 RT?

 

Or…just the usual, pull caliper and pads, use C-clamp to push piston back in caliper…..reverse for assembly.

 

And...doe modt of you have the rear pads wear out before the front?

Nope, and you don't need a c-clamp.... remove the caliper, using a lever, depress the pads, slip the pin and remove the old pads, than insert new pads and pin. Reinstall the caliper. Done

 

I was amazed how stright forward it was.

I would add; clean or replace the caliper carrier guide pins.

Yes on my particular R1150RT, the rear pads wear out MUCH more quickly than on the front.
