Light Switching

So it occurred to me I haven't made any "farkle" post lately. So despite having lost my title, I'm still messing with our R1200GS.

I recently added Motolights to it in addition to the Hella F55's that have been on it for awhile. The Hella's were relayed into the high beam, but with the addition of the Motolights I wanted a better way to control everything. So I added the switch pod from the R1200RT-P. Left switch for the Hella's, right one for the Motolights:

My only comment - after looking up the prices on BMW-Chicago.. Zowza! Well over $100 for the setup.

I'm keeping my eye out for some good condition switches to use - that would bring the cost down to reasonable (the housing is about $35).. It looks like the switches used are the standard ones used on the K bikes for centuries and oilheads for a decade or two.. so I'm hoping to score some used good ones a bit cheaper than the $35/each that they cost from the dealer.

MEANWHILE - I found I have an ancient hi-low switch assembly that clamps around the handlebar (think R50 vintage) - actually brand new.. and it fits the Roadster bar just fine, so that will go exactly where Ken's great looking light switch assembly is - for the moment.
