R1150R rear wheel spacer?

Just helped a visitor get a flat fixed, took his rear wheel off and there was no spacer - is that just an RT thing or was his missing?

Odd. The R1150 has the brake disk mounted to the wheel, not to the rear drive like the R1100. I would think leaving the spacer shim out would cause serious disk to caliper mis-alignment.

Floating caliper in the rear will adjust to disk position. It's the ABS sensor that prevents removing the spacer. I guess it could be adjusted but unless you do so it rubs.

Weren't some folks removing those and claiming a cure to PTTR?
Only on the 1100, not 1150, for the above-mentioned reason.

Duh dopeslap.gif That makes sense. I should have thought about that before advertising my ignorance.

Only ABS models have the spacer ring fitted.

ALL cast wheels should have the spacer installed. ABS/non-ABS makes no difference.
