R1100RT Clutch Replacement

Recommended Posts

I am replacing the clutch on my RT and have several questions. The Clymer manual tells that the pressure plate and clutch cover marks are to be 180* apart, and then to install. What about the white mark on the flywheel? The Haynes manual says to have the flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch cover marks spaced 120* apart. Which manual is right? I can get the pressure plate 120* from the flywheel mark, and the clutch cover 180* from the flywheel mark, is this good enough?

Clymer sucks big time. Lots of errors. Best used for emergency TP when camping.

It's supposed to be the white marks 120 degrees apart. But they aren't very accurate in their placement. Just space them as evenly as you can.

Stan thanks for quick reply. I will place the pressure plate at 120* from the flywheel mark, the clutch cover 180* from the flywheel mark.
