R4ND0M_AX3
I let the dealer perform a wallet mass reduction in exchange for a 12K service with brake system fluch (2 yr annual). I wasn't happy about paying the dealer and keep telling myself to go DIY. But then I picked up the bike. WOW! I think I got some new FI program flashed. The on/off throttle tranistions are WAYYYYY smoother than before. I don't know if a TB sync alone would do this. Nothing noted on the reciept though. Link to comment
kopov260
Wait until 24K, it'll become even faster and even more smoother. Link to comment
DUBLINCHRIS
Exactly the same with me. Left my ST in for service Tuesday 12000 mile/20000 kms. Complained to dealer about snatchiness below 2500 rpm especially in 1st/2nd gears in traffic. First gear necessitated lot of pulling in clutch/slipping to keep revs up. 2nd gear at low speed/revs was not good either again having to slip clutch or drop to first which dident always suit to drop to lower gear. Had complained to them before about this and I would say it was always the one down side of the bike for me. Added to that I had an R1200s out the last time as loan bike and it was way smoother, thought it was just different engine mapping between the two. Yesterday I was given another ST and it too was way smoother, I was able to drive in traffic in first gear clutch out at 20kmh and not have to reach for clutch due to snatching. When I got my own bike back I was sceptical about finding an improvement but surprise surprise all is now good and it is smooth in traffic. Apparently it too had a software upgrade which dealer had said should smooth things out. Life is good Just wondering if the problem is anything to do with my bike being an 05 and the fact that the loan bike was an 06 which probably had the upgrade already. Link to comment
