Mik
I want to experiment more sound of my boxer engine. Do you think it is a good idea to change the stock exhaust for a new one? With the new exhaust, do you think I will also have to adjust the engine? I never heard the sound of the arrow system, do you think I would like it? Your comments will be very appreciate. BigArn
Keep the stock one. I'm betting 99.9% of the responses will be the same. Link to comment

Mike Mike, I have to agree with Mark.. It takes a very special exhaust system to make the 1100-1150 BMW sound decent.. Unlike the Harley systems most of the aftermarket exhaust systems for the BMW R bikes are loud but without sounding good or strong, most I have heard sound lame & drone pretty bad at highway speeds.. Look in the archives here & I think you will find most are not happy with their non stock exhaust systems.. There are a few outlier’s that seem to be happy with their systems so I’m sure you will here their side hear also.. If you find a used aftermarket system (there seem to be a lot of them out there as most don’t leave them on long) & you can buy it for the right price then just buy it & try it out.. On most used systems you can pretty well get your purchase price back when you re-sell it, or if you like it then keep it.. Twisty Link to comment
Mik
Thank you guys for your comments. Twisty, the idea emerged last saturday when I ride with two guys on ducati bikes with termignoni exhaust systems, the sound was amazing. Mike Link to comment
Vicious_Cycler
mik I just added a ZTechnik Z4000 Europort slip-on to my '03 RT. After some advice from Twisty, et. al., I am very pleased. There is some good information in the Aftermarket pipe thread began by "2Infinity and Beyond" and hopefully my own new post, Aftermarket Exhaust Modification" will yield some good information. As for stock exhaust, hated it. Too hot, goodbye cat. Too quiet, hearing gone from the HD days . After installing the Eurosport, my perception is my bike sounds like the real deal without being obnoxious. Ride safe, VC Link to comment
Mik
Thank you VC. I already saw the aftermarket thread, but they didnt said anything about the arrow exhaust. I saw that the Remus also is a good one but here im Mexico they dont have either one. Enjoy your new ride Mike Link to comment
