Mike_Brown
I bought a great used BMW RT tank bag. It is in great shape and came with everything, even the velcro strips to put in front of the seat to hook on the little zipper piece. The strips came off today. I think they might have been too old and the adhesive may have been past its prime. Where can I get some more? Link to comment
EffBee
They can be ordered from your dealer. Link to comment
Mike_Brown
Thanks, but I was hoping there might be another source I could access more quickly. My dealer is over an hour away. Link to comment
Aluminum_Butt
Consider calling Chicago BMW. They can ship it to you, there's a 20% discount on parts, and it's likely the parts guy will know exactly what you need. Shipping time is not the fastest, however. If it's the same stuff that's on my GT tankbag, I never found anything in the aftermarket that would work. My dealer got me a set. Link to comment

OK, here's the deal for those of you for whom your dealer is at some distance. BMW does provide their dealers emergency overnight delivery. There's a premium of about 10% for this service. So, on these Velcro Strips, which probably cost less than $10, you might pay an extra $1 to have BMW ship it to your dealer overnight (provided you get your order in to the dealer by about 1-2PM that day. For an extra $3-$5, your dealer can then put something this small into an envelope which, I assume (given that you're an hour away), will arrive at your address the next business day. So, if you order it on Tuesday, you could have it in your hands as early as Thursday, depending on when FedEx delivers to the dealership, when the mail gets picked up, and how fast they are about turning your order around. We do this for our customers all the time when they need something inexpensive that can be mailed. If it's more expensive, then we UPS it so we can insure the package without having to stand in line at the post office. Call your dealer. Ask them to V.O.R. your order (VOR stands for Vehicle, Off the Road, it means the parts are needed ASAP to get you back ON the road). They should be able to handle it. If not, get the next nearest dealer to do it, or I can do it for you from California. In case you're wondering, sorry, BMW will not drop ship to your home. Link to comment
Davis
You could just go to Target, Home Depot, Radio Shack, etc and get some industrial strength velcro and cut them to shape. Link to comment
