steve_w
bought a parabellum for my 2000 1100 RT last summer, got the tall version and to get rid of buffeting and wind noise I have to have the screen almost raised to the top. I then am looking thru it --don't like that. Next bought a Cee Baily # 2, euro cut, in a + 4.5 size .. same problem, Question--do I need a shorter windshield or a different brand? I'm 6' tall, inseam 31" Thanks for the help- in advance. Steve W Link to comment
OoPEZoO
I'm 6'2" w/ 34" inseam. I ride with my seat in the middle position. I can see over my Aeroflow at its highest adjustment with no wind/buffeting issues. Personaly, I was looking at replacing it with a cee bailey's because my Aeroflow has developed a pretty nasty crack by one of the mounting points. I'm actually thinking of cutting the aeroflow so I get as much air to my arms as possible, while still keeping the height. Then I'll use it in the summer for touring. Link to comment
Ken H.
Cee Baily's will cut a screen to whatever height you want. Call 'em up! Link to comment
Foot
I have the +5.5 euro cut and it has to be close to all the way up to cut out the buffeting. I can just barely see over the windshield at that hieght. When it is all the way up I have to look through the windshield. I am 6'4" with 34" inseam. Alan Link to comment
PLW
Cee Bailey makes a standard height windscreen for your [our] bike. It's about three inches shorter than the one that came with the bike. You can easily see over it. It's great in the warm weather, since it's low enough to almost be non existent but in the rain or cold you can raise it up to the point that you are looking through it, or at least I am at 5'9". steve_w
have decided to get same windschield, only 2" shorter. Will see how this works Thanks for the input Steve W Link to comment
Yeeha! Stephen
I have a Cee Baileys #2 @ +3 over and it works perfectly (6'3"). I usually run it about 1" off the stops and it cuts the buffeting wonderfully. Never run it much higher than that. If I raise it to full, I get backpressure. I can actually "aim" the air flow anywhere from my shoulders to the top of my helmet. Sometimes when my head gets a little sweaty, I can aim the flow right at the vents on my helmet and get a little "ram" effect. But, it comes with turbulence. If you can't get your zone with a CB, I don't think you can get it. imho Link to comment
Bud
97 RT 6'2" Seat in highest position. Looking over AeroFlow with no buffeting. You shouldn't have to look thru a windshield. Link to comment
keithb
Steve I have a C.B. and based on your height I was going to recommend a screen at least 2" shorter. Sounds you have ordered that so you should be good to go. My height is 5'7" and I have the Euro cut +1H,+2W and it works quite well for me. Originally I had the +2H and on the 05 RT is was too tall.
