jojo
I know this subject may sound familiar but the symptomes are different to the sticky starter on cold starts. My starter simply does not engage properly and makes a loud grinding noise as if the rotor wouldn't click in to the flywheel. It takes 3 or 4 retries to crank the engine. Once the engine is started and the start button released, there is no abnormal noise. I haven't removed the starter for inspection yet but I was wondering if there was simple things to check beforehands. I put a bran new Odyssey battery 5 months ago and it doesn't sound like a discharged battery Thanks Link to comment
Ken H.
Still sounds like a sticky starter Bendix to me. They can stick engaged or disengaged. Sounds like yours is sticking disengaged. Remove it, clean it up, light lube and I'm betting you'll be good to go! Link to comment

I would think so too....but it's happening at every starts cold or hot. I remember reading a thread about a possible faulty solenoid. Would that be the same symptoms? Link to comment
