Steve Kolenda
Have a burnt out turn signal on my 2000 R1100RT and am having a very hard time finding a 1057 bulb, is there a more common bulb that will work? I'm assuming that the 1057 is a lower wattage than standard bulbs. Link to comment
Steve Kolenda
Ken, Thanks! Do you know what the difference is? Link to comment
Ken H.
Do you know what the difference is? I think glass sphere size. The 1057's glass bulb is smaller that the 1157's. Link to comment
Jerry Johnston
Was the turn signal on the 2000 a dual element bulb? On the older 96+ rt's the bulb was a 1056 single element. Link to comment
Steve Kolenda
Jerry, No, it is a single element bulb. Link to comment
Jerry Johnston
I'd go with the LED 1157 esp in the turn signals then because of the shock to the filiment in the bulb having to wack it every time you remove a mirror. http://www.pmlights.com/ web page Link to comment
Penrod
Can LED be used without problems? Would the lack of voltage draw be an issue?? Link to comment
Jerry Johnston
It isn't on the 96 but I can't honestly tell you on a much newr bike. If it was a problem I would think you could solve it with a resistor across the hot lead to the ground connection. Link to comment
