spark plug threads

Are the threads on Bosch spark plugs metric? If so, are the threads on interchangable spark plugs (champion, etc) metric, too? If not, does that mess up the thread pattern on the heads?

A spark plug will have the appropriate thread pattern for its intended application (doesn't matter if the plug itself was manufactured by a European or American company.) If the plug manufacturer lists a part number as being intended for your vehicle then it will fit. Actually I believe that all standard SAE spark plug thread patterns are metric these days, but not sure about that.

The only other plug to replace the Bosch is a NGK DCPR8EKC that I know of. They are just as hard to find as the Bosch & are a little more expensive. frown.gif

The threads on ALL spark plugs are metric!! Always have been. There are 3 common sizes: 10mm, 12mm (as found in most motorcycles) and 14mm (as found in most cars). Bosch plugs are fully interchangeable with any other same-size plug (providing you use the identical "reach" (length) and heat range.
