Eckhard Grohe
One of my front brake callipers has sticky piston/s and the pad wore out in 16K miles. I have the rebuild kit. What are the tips, tricks and traps I should know about before I start. Once that is done I am going to do the SST brake line replacement. Thanks Link to comment
Ken H.
It's pretty much standard stuff. If you've ever rebuilt the caliper on most any other vehicle, you can do this one. Nothing unique about it that I'm aware of. Link to comment
R1100RSpurist
Hello, I just recently did this job on my RS and found a great trick to remove those bothersome rubber seals in the calliper is to use a medium size fish-hook and poke the old seals and pull them out. make sure everything is nice and lubed with the oil they provide you. The Haynes manual has a section dedicated the the rebuilding of the caliper and is very helpful. Link to comment
Keith S
Eckhard Just rebuilt the front caliper on my RT. My main concern was installing the piston, after applying the lub that comes with the kit the piston just slid in. I was amazed how easy it was. Keith Link to comment
