Whip
Some of you fine folks may remember Huzband decided to do his SS1000 on the way to my house. He picked a fine spring weekend to make the trip. Season average temps from 56 to 85 degrees. He started at 12:42am and arrived at my house at 5:42 pm. Not bad. His trading partner Mark made the trip from Tubac Arizona. He stayed the night before in Marathon Tx. at the Gage Hotel. You may remember the name because Larry Grodsky tried to stay there the night he died. But it didn't have any rooms. So he was forced to travel to the next town, he never made it. When he arrived he looked pretty good for a guy with a stiff butt. The gentleman on the left is Mark he arrived a couple hours earlier. I was very impressed with both bikes...I think both men should be real happy. Danny's RT. Mark's GS (Now Danny's) We talked a little, had dinner and then watched some of "The Long Way Around" Louise really likes the show almost as much as the Lawman likes Flower shops. We then all watched Danny fall asleep with Rita(one of our dogs) in his arms. In the mornin they both planned on returning home in time for Easter Dinner. But the weather man had other plans. It was in the low 30's raining and even a little sleet. So we went to the nearest motorcycle shops looking for snow gear. Before we did I piled up everything I owned on the floor and they tried to fit into anything they could. I would have given Danny my electric but I had already loaned them out to Kaneman. The nearest dealer was the Ducati dealer. It was like being in an Art Gallery. Hey Russell....David Italians....you gotta love em.. My favorite part was the final negotiating...you shoulda seen these two. "You can't have that it belongs to my mother"....."it's a wire connector"....."I know but she gave it to me"....."but the headlight won't work without it"...you shoulda thought of that before you left Florida". "Hey what's this"..."get away from that"..."what is it"..."what's it look like"..."it looks like gum"...."Sooo"...."what's it doing there"...."it keep the instruments from vibrating I read that on Advrider"......"ya think it'll make it to Florida"...."sure, you may want to take some Double Bubble with ya just incase." Now it's Danny's turn. "What do ya mean I don't get the seat"......."Did I say anything about my custom seat"........."noooo, but you did tell me I get the stock seat"......"sure you can have it when I ship it to ya from Florida"......"You didn't expect me to ride all that way on that POS"......"How am I gonna ride it without a seat"......."You should've thought about that before you left AZ."...... I was starting to feel embarrassed for both of them and wanted to go inside while they sorted things out, but I didn't want to miss anything. The trading table??????????????????? I couldn't take it when they started fighting over the Blue Sharpie left in the tank bag. After some good Texas BBQ they settle down and started getting geared up. I called Limecreek, he and Danny worked out a way to get some electric so Danny could make it to Florida without freezing. By now it was 28 degrees and getting colder. Niether man would stay and both would regret it. Danny wouldn't leave this poor guy alone....he even checked his boots for spare fuses before he would let him leave. While they were gearing up Rusty left Danny a little present in his sweatshirt. Mark wearing my jacket and his crossing guard outfit. Danny double checking again to make sure everything was there. Danny got the final laugh...only one of the PIAs was working. Bye Bye Danny................yes that's snow and your a putz. Oh and Phil........................ That was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! philbytx
And there was I all prepared after your call . I had all my "Up North" (but VERY warm) gear out and ready for them! BTW - What is this "electric" and "heated" stuff? And where's the darn pioneer spirit these days.... I rode in IL in sub freezing temps in just my layered "natural" gear and never felt the need to trouble MY alternator Link to comment

Firefight911
The things people will do to try and garner a little attention!!!! Danny, now you have a nice GS. To this I will conceed. But to think that you are in any way cool on that Ducati. Uhhhh, no!! I especially liked the GSA photo. Glad you got to sit on it. Now, get off it!!!!!! Step away from the GSA and no one gets hurt!! I'm not working my normal 56 hour work week PLUS 156 hours of overtime in the month of April alone for you to mock the greatness that you ain't! Whip, I can only imagine the haggling at that table!! Danny probably tried to sell the poor guy some teeth too. And everyone knows that only black Sharpie have any street value. Blue?????? Rookie!! Nice tale. Danny, you are a PUTZ! Pull up some 'cause in time you will get yours! Link to comment
philbytx
And talking of Monty Python...... Off to the Old Country today for a few days to visit the "Crumblies". No biking tho' , just cageing it around with them in the back. Trouble is, I couldn't find anyone to lend me a trailer and an RT to drag along behind me...... Be safe.... Link to comment

Matts_12GS
I still feel honored that the putz stopped at my house to show me the bike before he went home. Fortunately for me, I had just bought and could trump him a little. Can you believe that he didn't wash it yet? It was SOOOOOOOOOO dirty. I've finally figured out what to call the noise that Danny's pan head makes too... Putztato putztato putztato! Link to comment
