96 1100RT flatering after new gas

I hope it's just bad gas. I filled up yesterday with 1 bar on the fuel gauge. then it started sputtering on take off then ran good then sputtered again about 2 or 3 times over the next 5 miles till I got home. Replaced spark plugs and it ran fine on the stand. tried to hold 3000rpm it would surge to 4000 one time then next time it held at 3000.....

 

any help?

What I'd do

 

syphion hose..... suck............ empty tank. Refill with fresh petrol. Hoping that the fuel filter isn't fouled.
