My year+ old jacket with many miles on it developed a problem.

At the Atlanta MC show I mentioned this to Scott at their booth.

He told me he'd never heard of a problem with them, and that they'd probably want to see the jacket.

I contacted the head honcho via phone tag (he was in Daytona) and was asked to send in the jacket.

After doing so, I received a personal call, at home, from Mr. Eli Whitney.

He told me they had never seen this before, and that I'd get a new jacket.

The next phase was interesting as he contacted me while brainstorming with his staff members as to what caused the problem. He called and asked lots of questions as they came up with ideas.

He even called my wife to ask about riding behind me and if there was anything she could think of, or anything related to her holding on while riding with me that was involved.

He let me know that the jacket was heading to the lab, and they were going to the plant to check it out.

All this for a single reported problem with a line that sold tens of tens of thousands.

My new jacket arrived, it fits, I'm looking forward to using it.

I would like to thank Mr. Whitney for his personal involvement in this and for the courteous, professional manner the situation was handled.

I have a variety of their products, highly recommend them, and would not hesitate purchase more.

For a major corporation to take the time and effort to do more than was rerquired is refreshing and appreciated.

A friend of mine has some 7+ year old tourmaster stuff...he loves it. When it comes time to replace some of my gear I'll certainly look at what they have to offer first. Thanks for sharing the positive experience.

+1 on Tourmaster. It's almost as good (if not as good) as the very best stuff at a fraction of the price.

Short hijack ... Eli Whitney? A clothing manufacturer? Say it isn't so! Any relation to Eli Whitney - inventor of the Cotton Gin, I wonder? smirk.gif

i wanted some cortech gx air pants when they were discontinued... they had the hrx pants coming out... the ones with the big cortech on the side...

i passed because of that big reflective cortech and waited on the tour master venture air pants that just hit the market this year...

they matched up perfectly to my cortech gx air jacket... both are mesh and have the 2 stage liner system... just roll the liners up and haul in the bags... pull them out as needed... easy 3 season setup...

i was thinking about the motoport kevlar next time but this tour master cortech stuff really is outstanding quality stuff... so... im staying with tour master and cortech...

also... i dont know tour masters affiliation with oxtar but those oxtar matrix 2 boots are nice too... i have only had them for a week but so far its looking like a good purchase...

I'll echo your thoughts T-man. I've been buying their stuff for a few years now and am consistently happy with the quality and fit. I don't know how they do it for the price but it's hard to beat. thumbsup.gif

Tallman, thanks for sharing this! One of the great aspects of this forum is that the good AND the bad gets attention...thanks for the positive information!

FWIW, I recently bought a *pricey* jacket for me and a used TourMaster Trinity for my wife (for a whopping $70, off this classified section). I can say that while my jacket was more than 3x what I paid for the TM Trinity, the quality and features are nearly identical. Sounds like TourMaster is on the ball. thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif
