mrsoup Posted April 1, 2007 Share Posted April 1, 2007 What is the most common resolution to load to my Garmin? Is there any advantage to using more detail than the 'medium' setting? Does the greatest detail use up a lot more space on my CF card? What do most of you use and/or recommend? Link to comment
John Bentall Posted April 1, 2007 Share Posted April 1, 2007 The detail level settings in Mapsource that you are referring to have no effect on the level of detail transmitted to the unit - they are only for route planning and affect speed of redrawing on the computer screen. The map sectors themselves are what fills up the Garmin. Link to comment

Ken H. Posted April 1, 2007 Share Posted April 1, 2007 All the info is sent to the unit regardless. The detail setting on both the PC MapSource program, and the similar setting on the unit itself, only control what is displayed. Link to comment
