Plasterman
Which bag liners, kathy's, cee bailey's, RKU etc.. on this board do people think are the best quality for their R1150RT's? Tom Link to comment
ednowicki
+1 Kathy's Wear like steel, wash well, fit good in hard cases. Ed Link to comment
gfountain
I have Cee Baileys liners and am very happy with them. Went with Helen's bags and tie down straps outside of the cases. Then I won a Chicane waterproof bag at a local ride. They are all well made. I don't think I would be unhappy with any of their products. Link to comment

Tom Another vote for Kathy's. I've used them on my old LT, GS and RT. All have held up well. I saw a set of the eBay jobs.. they're not bad, but not as nicely finished as Kathy's, and Kathy's has lots of colors! Link to comment
Albert
I have a set of these. http://cruiserbackrest.com/r1200rt-saddlebag-liners-p-244.html I doubt if they're of the same quality as Kathy's but, for 50 bucks a pair, they get my stuff from the bike to the room and back just fine. Link to comment
daveinatlanta
+! for the Cruiser Back rest above. You get what you pay for. These are not an exact fit into the side cases of the RT and they don't hold their shape. They're basically semi-stiff canvas bags with handles and zippers. If you don't fill them, they'll collapse. You can overpack them though. Bottom line -- they're fine for me and, as noted above, they'll function nicely getting your stuff to and from a hotel or your house. And they're about $40 for a set. ButtUgly
I bought a set of hard case liners for my 1200RT last year at the MOA meeting. They were purchased from Helen Two Wheels at the rally. Her service was excellent, they fit great and I got a good deal. Fair price and a free tee shirt. Link to comment
marcopolo
Used Kathy's on my 1150R and bought another set last year for my R12RT (side cases only. I bought the BMW one for my 49L topcase. I like it too). Link to comment
lakota
Use Kathy's on my R1150RT. Work really well for both system and top cases. Link to comment
tomk99r11
I can't comment on any but Kathy's but I would not hesitate to buy them again. Link to comment
SAAB93driver
I have C Baileys liners, no complaints. One observation that I imagine is true with any of them. The liners take up some space on their own and don't let you stuff things in all the corners of the odd shaped bmw cases (unless you leave it outside of the liner which defeats the purpose). It's a tradeoff for the convenience. Link to comment
johnt650
Cee Bailey's have worked well for me but I have no experience with others. Link to comment
flyingreg
Has anyone tried the liners that are always on eBay for $49? The Bestem bags are great. Good quality, fit cases perfectly, top quality bags in my opinion. I have had expensive liners too, and the ones you refer to do exactly what they are suppose to do, carry yer stuff. They do this quite well. Hope that answers your question. Link to comment
Plasterman
Thanks everyone! $40 sounds like my price, considering they are something I will probably only use 3-4 times per year. More money for my GPS.... when the Zumo drops some more. Tom Link to comment

St0nkingByte
I use the cruiser backrest bags everyday on my commute to carry lunch, my laptop, etc. They start to fall apart after about a year of daily use. Mainly the internal plastic liner stuff starts to shred and put little black flakes all over everything. Outside is still pretty good and the zippers are holding up OK. I guess its not so bad at $50 for the pair. Link to comment

No wear inside or outside to speak of, they still look like new. I do admit that for the most part I don't put laptop pc's or other large hard objects in my bags. Link to comment

Steve_Witmer
Looks like the internal waterproof coating (urethane?) coming off. Have you run them through the dryer? Link to comment
MattP
I bought a set of DeSantis BeemerBags (sides + top) off this forum. WOW! Probably some of the better luggage I own, period. I have even used the top case liner as an overnight bag when not on the bike. Don't see them that often it seems like, but they sure are nice. Link to comment

On a serious note, the urethane coating on my bags is still like new. Someone asked if the bags have been run through a dryer. That would kill the coating if any heat was applied. Have you talked to Cruiser Backrest about this issue? They may replace the bags, depending on how long you have had them. You never know until you try. Link to comment
cwc
Sorry if this is an unacceptable hi-jack, but it looked like a good place to ask... I have a liner that I think is for a top case for a R1150RT. It has tags inside and outside that say BMW and one inside that has the number 9916 07 7 651 886. It's about 18 by 10 by 7. If anyone has one of these and can help identify it I'd appreciate it.
