CoarsegoldKid
Today just before the rains came I changed the final drive and transmission oils. The final drive went off without a hitch. However, I need a bigger syringe for .23 liters. But the transmission dump is a bit of a pain in the backside. I had to keep reminding myself how much $$$ I was savings. Now that half of the tupperware is removed tomorrow I'll keep removing plastic and do the brake bleeding. As for the transmission, boy BMW was asleep at the switch when they designed this puppy. You can't get a catch pan under the drain because the centerstand is in the way. I jury rigged something to prevent lubing the garage floor, still I had a mess to mop up. The centerstand is not going to rust! Got to be a better way. By the way in 8K miles the trans oil was looking very dark grey. New oil looks amber. Smooth. Clean. $aving$ $aving$ Link to comment
Ken H.
Got to be a better way. Aluminum foil. Form up a little pan, sloped and narrowing to catch and run the fluid out to the right side of the bike. Link to comment
