lgoldy46
has anyone had the oil fill plug seat come out of the head? how do ya put it back in, looks like it just drives in, or press in. I haven't removed tupperware yet to get a good look at it. Link to comment
bmwmick
It's just a press fit. Put new O-Rings on both pieces. http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0418&mospid=48862&btnr=11_1704&hg=11&fg=20 Mick Link to comment
4wheeldog
The non working end of a broom handle can be helpful for pushing the little devil back in....It makes it easier to apply even pressure around the entire ring. Good Luck!. Link to comment
Jerry Johnston
Be sure and put a little oil or stop cork grease on the new O-ring before pushing it back in place. Link to comment
Rags
I just recently had the entire seat and plug blow out. Lost 3 qts of oil without knowing it (on my pants, gear bag and whole side of bike). There is a key on the plastic seat and a key slot in the head. I used the back of my screwdriver handle to seat the assembly. O ring on cap then 1/4 turn (no more) to lock cap. Link to comment

Bill_Walker
Be sure and put a little oil or stop cork grease on the new O-ring before pushing it back in place. I would disagree with this (at least with oil, don't know about grease). I did this the previous time I changed the o-rings on the filler, and it leaked quite a bit. So this last time, I pulled the filler (with the valve cover removed from the bike), cleaned the seat area thoroughly, cleaned the filler assembly thoroughly, put on the new o-rings and pushed the filler into place, dry. It hasn't leaked a drop since. Link to comment
notacop
I beleive that if you grease/lube the 'O' rings while installing, you take a good chance of having it blow out again. Oil seepage around the o-rings is what made it suseptible to internal pressure in the first place. Pop it out, clean both o-rings and push it back in. It's like the oil site glass, if you see start to seep, time to do something! Link to comment

Would any one have the size of #06? Link to comment
