It has been a while since I had to purchase any parts. I need the basics like brake pads, mirrors, and some misc trim parts. Who has the best deals for us cheap guys???

I buy online from Hammersley, Bob's, Morton's, and Max's. I don't see any big difference between the four as far as my RT goes, but when I need stuff for my old airhead I call Max's.

Really? You don't notice that Chicago and Hammersley both have 20% discount, or that Chicago takes sometimes forever to deliver the parts?

If I need it today I pay full price and go to Morton's, if I can wait I order from Hammersley.

Try Beemerboneyard.com. They do stock some new parts at a reasonable price and occasionally have some good used pieces.

>>>>>>>>OK, so what does forever mean..??I thought all BMW dealers got parts from BMW national distribution centers throughout the US.

I usually frequent my local dealer for parts and they generally take a week or less. No shipping charges. They call and I pick up, if its wrong (on their part) I return, no charge.

Why is Chicago or Hammersley any different? Perhaps they don't/ can't ship as fast as they should. Maybe they have to wait for parts from BMW, then ship to you which would explain the delay.

As said, if in a hurry, then order locally if possible.

Just a thought, MB>

They all do, but Hammersley not only stocks more parts inhouse, but orders more than once a week, and ships immediately.

IF a part must be ordered, they get it faster, and ship faster.

As for the local dealer, as much as a week or more for parts, but I wouldn't do the 80 mile round trip without verifying they had it in stock forst, or the 100 mile round trip to Bob's, same thing.

Quite a few new parts actually. Air filters and brake pads I know for sure. Of the other mentioned dealers I always used Bobs because they have the best service.
