GBAILEY Posted March 19, 2007 Share Posted March 19, 2007 Gentlemen My grips on my RT are now worn smooth. 2002 with 55,000 miles. Still work but look pretty tatty. I have ordered some new heated grips. Whats the knack with fitting them. Anyone else done them and can give me a run through on how to do the job. Cheers Link to comment

bmwmick Posted March 19, 2007 Share Posted March 19, 2007 You can buy just the rubber grips from BMW. Just be careful removing the old ones so you don't cut the wires. If you are convinced you have to replace the entire grip assembly. Remove the connectors from the connector housing under the tank and tie strings to the ends. Pull the strings through the bar so you can thread the new wires in. Mick Link to comment
John Ranalletta Posted March 19, 2007 Share Posted March 19, 2007 Since we don't know what part of the process is a stumbling block i.e. remmoving the grips, releasing the wires from the block, etc., perhaps this site will help.
