Just thought I would mention I finally had some time at lunch today to make up a couple more of these:

In case anyone still needs/wants one...still 62.00 including shipping.

Very creative solution! I'll see how my current setup works for awhile but really like the simplicity of your install. wayne

Thanks Wayne...I tried to make something that looks like it could have come from the factory. I wanted it to look like it belonged between the handlebars, and so made the curve on the base as a relief of the curve on the handlebars. Plus the aluminum matches the material used in the bars as well.

A fair amount of trial and error, (lots of material on the floor tongue.gif) but I think it came out not to bad smirk.gif

thumbsup.gif Bought one of these last month from Jim (JAKFROST) & couldn't be happier. Was originally concerned about just "tapping" it in place but as Jim predicted, easy on, no movement once in place and not difficult to remove (had no reason to, just wanted to make sure I could). Nice piece of work &, IMHO, a good buy for the money.

Of course, it looks a lot better on my Piedmont Red R1200RT then his. grin.gif

Jim: Is that a RAM style ball mount on top of your GPS mount? If so, is that included in the price?

Thanks,

Yes, that is a 1" ram ball mounted on the base...it is included in the price, as is the shipping.

Here is a photo of my Garmin 376c in its usual spot...the only time the Garmin comes close to the bottom of the 'guage view' is when I use a 3" ram arm to raise the GPS up a little to see it clearly over a stuffed BMW tankbag. Then the top of the Garmin comes to the bottom of the guages in my view...and I am 5.9" with a 32" inseam. Pretty average, (for a little fella...).

Normally I use a 1.75" ram arm since it tucks the GPS down nice and neat between the handlebars.

This view is with the 3" arm, so worst case scenario...

Hey Jim; looking forward to having a look at that setup on Monday, along with your Autocom.

BTW, I've just about got myself convinced that I could install the Autocom in my helmets. I spoke to Jesse this morning and he's more than willing to do the on-bike stuff (assuming I ever get my helmet installations to work lmao.gif). Only catch might be actually securing the hardware I need. I'm working actively on that aspect now.

Figured Jesse would work on your stuff this time of year since he's probably not too busy yet. Say hello to him for me.

Will do.

Jesse was always willing to do the bike work, but didn't seem too keen on the helmet stuff (I may have scared him off, though). What changed is that I've decided to bite the bullet, and install the speakers/microphones in the helmets (hope that works).

Jesse's work will up quickly as the temp rises. He also can't install it until I get the hardware, and do the helmet work first. I'm getting the kit from California. There's at least one dealer locally, but they have nothing in stock, and the Cdn distributor won't have anything for a number of weeks. They also are not well equipped to answer questions locally (like which cables I need for which devices, e.g., GPS etc.). I decided I'd buy it from people who are equipped to provide advice, and have the stuff in stock.
