Bob Palin
I took Whip's new GSA for a jaunt around the Hill Country yesterday, just to help him with the break in you understand. I'll write up my riding impressions later but I know y'all are really only interested in the pictures. The box is by Hippo-Becker and the tank bag from Marsee, the tank bag has a clever twist attachment to the tank which is totally useless, you only have to look at it for it to fall off. When I stopped here it fell into the water and floated away, I had to wade in to get it back... I had to take a little off road jaunt of course, it's a big bike when you push out over the edge of a steep, rubbly, rutted downhill but it handled it fine. You were expecting scenery - with a new bike to ride? I put about 250 miles on it, the Seargent saddle was quite comfortable, something I almost never say about seats. Riding position was great, the bars maybe just a tad wider than I would choose. The motor feels great even though I didn't thrash it with only a couple hundred miles on it, handles fine even with 8 gallons in the tank. Link to comment

Working with Whip seems to include a trip to Vegas, beer, riding his bike, playing with the dogs, comfy place to crash out, and eating at really nice places. I want on Whip's payroll Sweet pics and that is one mighty tough looking scooter Link to comment

What are friends for? I know it was difficult, but someone had to do it! Whip was talking about some spirited riding coming up for the Hill Country ride in late March. Glad to hear his break in will be done. I thought "spirited" was just Texican talk for moseying on down the road. Link to comment

Whip I've got a kink in my neck today, think I'll have to rest. I haven't ridden a any other 1200s so I can't compare the GS ot the GSA, I did spend a weekend with an 1150GS a few years ago, the 1200 feels much lighter and more flickable. Link to comment
