NoHeat
Not the brand. Not the style. Just the color. Include all helmets you use often for street riding. Not dirt. You may list more than one. If your helmet is multi-colored: Select the last choice if there's no single color that covers at least 75%. Link to comment

Bill_Walker
Mine would've been white, if I'd had my druthers, but they didn't have one in stock in my size, and I didn't want to make the trip again, or keep using my old one. Link to comment

Quinn
Does your helmet match your bike? That was one of my considerations--especially for the passenger helmet which will spend most of its time strapped to the luggage rack staring at the cars behind me. My helmet matches my jacket. Makes it easier for the EMTs to match up body parts. Link to comment

velomoto
Does your helmet match your bike? Got the (almost) black & silver RT. Not sure there's a color which doesn't "match"! Got the silver Schuberth just in case. Link to comment

NoHeat
The poll results show that white helmets are favored by BMWST riders. I'd guess that black/anthracite colors are the most common for motorcycle helmet sales generally, but not here. At least for those who responded to the poll. I tried to write the poll so that it didn't illicit a biased response, but it can be hard to do that right. Link to comment

graemer57
The poll results show that white helmets are favored by BMWST riders. I'd be interested to see what the results would be if the poll was run again with Silver as an option. I know a lot of BM riders who wear silver helmets, myslef included, and dont think that having to put them under 'other' was a suitable option...especially when yellow was listed as an individual colour!! :-) Link to comment

Lots of faith in your fellow rider huh? Jim Link to comment

RoyTemple
Interesting, I've been considering replacing my black Schuberth C1 with a C2. I think I want to change to "silver" for slightly more visibility, matches bike paint better, will not show scratches, dings, dirt as much, is quieter, etc.. I just checked their web site and see that while they do have silver (called "Titansilbermetallic"), they don't even have white, let alone yellow. Besides the silver, there are three shades of black and a red. http://schuberth.klaxmedia.de/en/c2/colors-decals/colors.html Link to comment

I think I want to change to "silver" for slightly more visibility.... I've just changed my Concept for a C2 and find that, while they superficially look very similar, the C2 is a way better helmet. Much quieter and the slight angular chin piece penetrates the air better. After a while in my Concept I used to get a sore neck on unfaired bike, as the flat front gave a lot of resistance and it felt as though someone was pushing against the chin piece. Nothing like that on the C2. Mind you, has been a lot harder to fit my Autocom headset to the C2 as it involved dismantling helmet and pulling apart linings. Oh... and mine's silver too!!!! leikam
You are joking right? I never joke, Jim. The results show only that those who replied to the poll voted as they did. Assuming that they are representative of all "BMWST riders" is as unfounded as assuming that people who wear red helmets prefer checking the first option over checking the "right" box. No poll on this site has more than entertainment value, so why not have fun with the interpretation? Link to comment

No poll on this site has more than entertainment value, so why not have fun with the interpretation? Fun? Isn't it a little lame to have your fun by criticizing the first half of my interpretation, while not acknowledging the second half? IMHO, the second half makes most of your criticism moot. Here is the second half of what I wrote: "At least for those who responded to the poll. I tried to write the poll so that it didn't illicit a biased response, but it can be hard to do that right." edit: my spelling of "elicit" was wrong. Link to comment
Mike
While your poll isn't scientific, my guess is that the results aren't far from the truth. Perusing photos on this website, you see a lot of white, silver, and colored helmets. Personally, I'm a silver/gray kind of guy. Link to comment
Bill_Walker
Don't think I've ever seen a yellow helmet out on the street. I've seen plenty of yellow ones, but mostly on riders of matching yellow Gold Wings. [sweeping generalization warning] Based on my observations, no riders are as taken by color-coordinated bikes and helmets as Gold Wingers are. Link to comment

LuckyLeif
As mentioned in another posting, Its a thermal issue. I too wear silver. Serious question - doesn't an inch of "styrofoam" in the crushable liner insulate a helmet from heat/cool? I have never worn a dark helmet (unless you consider red to be such) but not because of thermal reasons - never had considered that. Link to comment

It does, but the placebo effect of a white helmet makes some FEEL cooler. This has been proven a few time in magazine articles. The surface might be a bit hotter, but the head doesn't know that!
