Oloff_Kilter
Has anyone heard about a recall on the ABS system for the K1200? A friend of mine had his brakes fail and caused an accident. I remember reading something a few months ago about an ABS recall. Can't remember if it was for K bikes or R models. His bike is a '05. Thank you. Link to comment
tallman
The recall was about repeated use of brakes under hard braking. Loss of full brakes could result. Remedy was thicker rotors. Link to comment
ELP_JC
There was some kind of recall on earlier NEW KS bikes, I believe. Please speficy which 'K' bikes you're talking about. Link to comment
timmr
My k12s had a banjo bolt replaced. Some of the kr's had pads and rotors changed. Link to comment
Oloff_Kilter
Please speficy which 'K' bikes you're talking about. Turns out his bike is an '04 K1200GT. He also had a problem with it stalling and cutting out. BMW replaced the brain and it stopped the stalling problem but the brake problem persisted. Thank you for your help. Link to comment
RFW
The recall was about repeated use of brakes under hard braking. Loss of full brakes could result. Remedy was thicker rotors. The problem was related to the ABS pump. I am curious how thicker rotors could possibly have the slightest effect on this. Link to comment
