BCRider
I am planning on redoing the whole final drive this winter. I am replacing the clutch and anything else that's needed. I emailed Bruno's Machine in Ontario, Canada to find out the cost of going through the tranny. He suggested undercutting the 2nd gear. Anybody had this done and is it worth the $100? My tranny is a little clunky between 2nd and 3rd. Link to comment
duckbubbles
Undercutting is mainly used in racing transmissions for more positive gear engagment. Can't see where it will hurt if done correctly. The gears are case hardened and that has to be considered. It may not reduce clunkiness because that is a function of the design of the gearbox.
