philbytx
Well, going the thrifty route....picked up a quart of Wallyworlds Synthetic 75w140 Tranny oil today at $9.66 a quart, in readiness for my 6k next week. Finishing up the last of my 20w50 BMW Platinum based dino oil on this change as I couldn't find any 15w50 Mobil1 on the shelves at all...all the lower weights tho! Link to comment

wolcott
I don't know if it is Mobil or the employee that does the ordering at Wal-Mart for the Mobil 1 15W-50 oil. All I saw was one lonely 5 gallon container of Mobil 1 15W-50 ext. mileage for roughly $27.50. Castrol Syntec in quarts for $5.50 a quart and regular dino Castrol GTX 20W-50 for $2.18 a quart. No gallons or 5 qt. containers of GTX 20W-50; although I did see some gallon containers of GTX 20W-50 at advance auto parts. Tip: Shell motor oil in various grades for $1.28 a quart (no 20W-50 though). Link to comment

wolcott
Just revisited this thread. I meant to say a "5 quart container" of oil. I have never seen a 5 gallon jug of oil in wal-mart only 1 gallon (4 qt. containers) and 5 quart containers. My mistake. I don't want people swarming to wal-mart looking for 5 gallon containers of oil! Link to comment
