Miriam Posted September 15, 2006 Share Posted September 15, 2006 Well, we did it again… Went to Austria, Italy, and Switzerland for some ten days of awesome riding. Lots of mountain passes, most impressive one being the Stelvio on account that it’s the second highest in the Alps you can ride on-road, but also because its pretty steep. Some stretches up to 15%, more are 12%, still enough to get my heart rate up a fair bit. On the Hahntenjoch top Looking down on the steep side of the Stelvio pass Flooded long ago to create the lake Our little riding group Kaunertaler Gletscherstraße Famous ski resort Lech The Bodensee, on our way back As is obvious from the pictures we were totally spoiled with the weather, had lots of ice cream, and a wonderful group to ride with. That hotel at the bottom of the Stelvio Pass has some fantastic pictures inside of when people used to travel the pass using Wagons and Horses, unbelievable Link to comment
