Pickaxe
Hi Does anybody know the minimum amount of plastic that needs to be removed to replace the throttle cable on a 12RT ? Also, are there any awkward fasteners etc. Thanks in anticipation. Link to comment
Ken H.
There is no "minimal" aspect about it, unfortunately. The throttle cable travels to a junction box that then splits to separate cables, one to each side. Significant bike disassembly is needed to get to it. Besides, if your cable has failed, R1200RT = In warranty = Let the dealer fix it. Right? Link to comment

Unfortunately the cable hasn't failed, the throttle action has become slightly stiff. I've tried the simple approach like lubrication, but without any improvement. I'm pretty sure that BMW wouldn't class it as a warranty job. Thanks anyway for the advice. Link to comment
