SAMSAR
Great!! Armando or Woodie... do you know yet if we will have someone with experience doing/leading Brake bleeds? Seems like about half of us want to learn/do that... Looking forward to a great week end... and SAMSAR I think we might need to worry more about it snowing rather than raining I think HenryJ7 may be able to help us out here.... Can you say Guru?... Sure, I knew you could. By the by... Any "Tank Off" projects get first-dibs on the garage bays. I figure we can fit up to six bikes in the bays and then we have three+ "party-tent" bays for the driveway. There is at least enough room for 17-20 bikes to be worked on at the same time. Adding to the learning list... I would be also be interested in understanding how to tune my suspension and the nuances involved. I've been doing some reading on the topic but knowing the bike is setup properly to begin with would be be a big help. Not that I won't be busy enough with the 6K. Link to comment

I want to do another valve adjust, TB sync (got a TwinMax for my birthday), and change all the oils. Oct. 28 (Saturday) is good for me. I will be sure to take all the Tupperware off my bike to save time...Oops! I just remembered, the "R" doesn't have any Tupperware! (heh, heh)! See you in a month or so! Any ideas who has them??? Also, for the locals... I could use a couple additional party tents and a couple more portable propane heaters to help fight any chill in the air. PM me if you have anything that might work and I will arrange to pick up before the 28th. Remember, you are welcome to have any parts shipped to the house if you don't want to carry them on the bike. Looks like this event is growing. I will update the spreadsheet this weekend (assuming I don't join you on the Saddlesore). I now have 2 party tents that can probably house 3 bikes. And I will be happy to pickup any other tents, tools, and/or supplies for the event that others will lend. I will update the list of attendees and projects this weekend as well. a Link to comment

Jim Hi Jim and Henry, Do you think we should rig up something in the garage floor that we could slide the changer/plywood into to make it even more secure? I am in India this week but will be back at 0 Dark 30 Friday morning. I'm not planning on going into the office that day and could figure something out if you want to drop it off say Thursday. I will make it ummm "non-permanent". Unless of course you want to leave it at the house. I can PM you the code to the garage if Suzanne isn't there. And again... YES to anyone that wants to have stuff delivered to the house... like tires. The local guys can just drop stuff off too anytime. The traffic report here in India is "Chaos". Not sure I'd be brave enough to combat this traffic on either a bike or a cage. Our driver/security escort summed it up by saying you need 3 things when driving in India: "Good Brakes, Good Horn, and Good Luck." See ya later, Link to comment
DiggerJim
Do you think we should rig up something in the garage floor that we could slide the changer/plywood into to make it even more secure?Do you think that's necessary? The plywood base is big enough to be standing on when it's bolted on. That puts a lot of weight keeping it down. I saw it as a recommended technique from a few folks here. Jim Link to comment
KMG_365
Do you think we should rig up something in the garage floor that we could slide the changer/plywood into to make it even more secure? You could always set some anchors flush in the garage floor so you can bolt it down for use, but then unbolt it for return and/or storage. I'm pretty sure Hilti or one of the other brands sell cement anchors that are designed to receive a machine threaded bolt. Just make sure you have the proper sized masonry bit (and a roto-hammer would be nice) and it should only take a few minutes to install it. With the bolts removed and the anchors set flush with the floor (or below) they won't be a trip hazard, but if you're going to go months between uses, you might look into something you could use as a plug so that the anchors don't get filled with dirt and debris.
