Glacier_g_rt Posted August 29, 2006 Share Posted August 29, 2006 Can someone recommend a replacement muffler for my 20 yr. old K100RS. The distinct "whistle" of the oem exhaust needs to go. Is there a muffler out there that will make it sound more like a MC ? Any help is appreciated. Link to comment
Glacier_g_rt Posted August 29, 2006 Author Share Posted August 29, 2006 So far I have only found Remus brand to make an aftermarket muffler for the 2 valve K100. Two components needed to replace the muffler @ $209 each. Have I missed another manufacture out there? Link to comment
Dennis Andress Posted August 30, 2006 Share Posted August 30, 2006 The whistle is from the primary gears not the exhaust. My K12 has a Remus and so did my 91 KRS. The system on the K12 has two mufflers (perhaps one is a catalyst??) and is considerably quieter than what was on the 91. Its certainly loud enough to solve the whistle problem just fine.
