lawnchairboy
Hi: mechanical idiot seeks knowledge (again): I am coming up on the 12000 mark and am planning on doing air filter/tranny fluid to synthetic/oil filter and change along with other basics on the list. I would like to attempt to check the valve clearances also but can't figure out by looking at the heads with the external spark plug covers removed how in the hell to get the internal black plastic L-shaped plug cap off in order to pull the heads. Further: once one has removed this internal black plastic cap off the plug prior to pulling the heads do ya' then need to pull the plug before the head covers will come off? I'm assuming that the plug tool in the tool kit will actually get used somewhere in this process. Anyhow, any wisdom appreciated... just remember to use small words... Link to comment

Angel
My suggestion would be for you to attend a tech day somewhere near you. Or coordinate something with another rider with the experience and THE TOOLS... Even if you are a wrench. Link to comment
