I just had my 24k check with all the software updates. Now as I accellerate from about half throttle the engine cuts out and will not accellerate. The dealership put it on the diagnostic computer and it didnt show any faults. They havent had anyone else with this problem. Anybody got any ideas?

Sorry to hear about your dilema. Sounds like the dealer that did the work has a project now. I have an '05 RT and haven't run across any needs for software updates.

I once worked as a tech for Ford and some of the software updates caused more problems that what they were supposed to fix. It got to the point that we would not do any updates automaticly under routine servicing. If the customer would be actually experiencing a specific problem that an update was supposed to fix, then we reflashed the PCM and kept our fingers crossed.

BMW of North Dallas? Just curious. Whoever the dealer is I'm sorry to hear they've screwed up your bike. Just another reason why I maintain my bike myself. The prices charged for service are bad enough but I think most of us would tolerate it if the dealer simply did the job right.

As far as software "updates" are concerned - if it's not broke, don't fix it! My '05 RT has 24k, runs perfect and isn't getting any updates anytime soon.

I noticed after doing my service, that the wire for the spark plug was being pulled, or did not have enough 'slack', when the cover was put back on. I cut the two tie-wraps, and pulled a little more wire out, then retied it. If not, it seemed like the plug would eventually be pulled out of the socket.

Probably not your problem, but something else to check anyway.

Now I have had exactly the same problem with my bike, also not long after a service, the problem became most apparent when the engine was hot, I took the bike back to the dealer who said they could find no fault but admitted they had not got the bike up to temperature, so they kept it for another day. I think one of the engineers rode it home that night. Alleluia they found the fault, it was a sensor that measured the engine temp. and told the computer the engine was still cold, they replaced it and everything's fine

Just wanted to let everyone that reads my post that know I in no way am blaming the dealership for the problem with my bike. I was just needing some information.
