Help: Installing Wilburs shocks

Recommended Posts

Ordered the Wilburs shocks combination 630, 640 and 625 for my 2000 RT and had them lowered 1". Are there are any tips and/or tricks to getting them installed? I've been searching for documentation online but haven't had any luck. Thanks in advance.

It's pretty straight forward. You don't need to remove the tank, just slide it back a couple inches. Need Hex Drive's for the rear mounts, mind the torque settings, use some locktite. Hard to get a torque wrench on the top front mount without a crow's foot. I started with about 11 clicks of rebound damping. Be sure to set your sag properly.

PM if you have a specific questions.

I was kind of worried about putting my Wilburs on too. In all , it took longer to remove the plastic than to install the shocks. Pretty straight foward I thought. I have them and I love them.

Thanks for the tips Jeff. UPS will deliver them on August 10th and I hope to have them installed the next day. I'll let you know if I run into any problems. Thanks!
