OroQuincy
I am going to replace the clutch cable on my 95 R1100RS. My Haynes manual says to remove the swingarm first. Do I really need to do this? Thanks, DW Link to comment
bmwmick
No, You should have no problem with the swingarm in place. Just remember to clean and grease the 'barrel ends' of the cable. Mick Link to comment
breyfogle
The clutch cable can actually be removed without any tools at all. Remove all tension at the handlebar adjuster and slip the clutch cable end-barrel off the clutch lever at the tranny end with a finger or two. To install, reverse the above. However, adjustment of the new cable can be a real PITA without suitable 10 mm and 13 mm tools. Link to comment
USAF1
Removing the rear tire/wheel will give you a bit more room to work in. Pat Link to comment
